The company also reported a gross profit of $6.7 million, an increase of 32% compared to gross profit of $8.2 million or 33% gross profit margin for the year-ago period.  Operating expenses for the fourth quarter decreased by 27% to $1.7 million, compared to $2.2 million in the fourth quarter 2008. The company disclosed it has a $9.6 million backlog of orders and revealed a new product launch is coming soon. Based in Irvine, California, Pro-Dex Inc is a motion control and power engineering company providing high-tech and refined drive systems for the medical, dental, semiconductor, scientific research and aerospace markets worldwide.
