Somaxon Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:SOMX) jumped 16.86% up to $3.95 on no official word yet if the FDA received the required fees to review their drug candidate Silenor; however the provision for the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) is due today.  Somaxon is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the in-licensing and development of proprietary product candidates for the treatment of diseases and disorders in the central nervous system such as insomnia.  

Oculus Innovative Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLS) rose another 12.64% up to $1.96 this morning with just under one million shares trading hands.  The company is still benefitting from this week’s announcement of upcoming 2010 US milestones.  As we reported yesterday the company anticipates upcoming 2010 FDA clearances to generate revenues of greater than $45 million to $60 million with operating profitability of 20% by 2013. Based in Petaluma, California, Oculus Innovative Sciences is a biopharmaceutical company which develops, manufactures and markets products based upon Microcyn Technology platform, including formulations designed to significantly reduce the need for antibiotics to fight infections.
